I wanted to share with you some quotes from girls and parents who have participated in Miss AMS and its impact on them.

This is just a small selection of written quotes I have. With over 1,000 girls having been part of Miss AMS over the past 19 years, each one holds a special place in our hearts, and we hope theirs. The success of our pageant each year is thanks to them, as they leave knowing they are valued and beautiful. and encourage others to join us.

I began this journey younger than some of them are now, and while I may not recall every name immediately, I remember them. I cherish every girl and feel immense pride when they visit or I learn about their achievements since leaving Austin. We are a community that I am grateful to be a part of and look forward to welcoming our new girls for our 20th year. ~Miss W.

I got to experience being a contestant in the Miss AMS pageant for 3 years, and I got to be the little princess when I was younger, and it was all so much fun. I always knew when I was younger, I was obviously going to do Miss AMS, because I would always see the older girls do it when I went to watch. I got to experience being on panel for three years and I got close with each girl every year in a different way that was also on panel with me. If you are a girl and go to Austin Middle school and are an upcoming 6th, 7th, and 8th grader. I highly recommend doing this program. Miss AMS is not a beauty pageant. It’s a pageant about being graceful, elegant, and kind to others. Miss AMS gave me lots of confidence, good memories, and best of all some amazing friends I met or got closer with along the way.  I couldn’t imagine how I would be to this day without joining Miss AMS. It truly did make me happy knowing I got to see everyone after school to go to practice or if we had an important panel meeting and got to see what was for the next upcoming year of Miss AMS. I especially loved hanging out with the sweetest little princess Kelsey. I love Miss AMS and who it made me today, and I’m so grateful that I was able to join and got to have lots of fun doing it! If you or your daughter is thinking about joining, I highly recommend it for any girl that goes to Austin Middle School. ❤️ I couldn’t have done it all without the help of my friends along the way doing it with me, the best mom ever, and of course Miss W!!

Thank you Jane for all the work you did on the pageant. This pageant has really brought Ava out of her shell. It sounds funny but it’s almost like being part of the Girl Scouts without having to sell cookies. It’s more than just getting dressed up, it’s more than being a pretty face, it’s more than just writing an essay, It’s about learning about yourself, discovering who you are, who you want to be and trying things you never ever thought you would do before and doing it with a whole group of amazing girls that are going through the exact same thing as you are. It’s the journey from the beginning of each year being a different girl than when you started out. It’s about learning to handle life with grace and poise. Ava has really enjoyed herself and I would honestly recommend the pageant to anyone. Not everybody’s going to win and not everyone’s going to place, even though they are all beautiful and the best version of them self that night, but they all have such a great time being together it really is about the journey not the destination. Thank you so much for all that you do and the guidance that you gave them.

“I am honored and proud to have been crowned the first Miss Austin Middle School and it is a memory I will forever cherish."

Kinsley Hutchinson 2012

"Winning Miss AMS in 2012 was a big deal to me. It led me to many opportunities and led me to realize several different things. After I won I no longer had stage fright and that made me want to go explore and be a part of the pageant world…Nothing made me feel more special than winning Miss AMS and nothing will be as memorable as that moment I was crowned."

As my girl is getting ready for her third and final pageant today, I had a rush of thoughts and emotions. I just want to thank Jane Wolfschlag for her dedication to making this event so great! She has put in many hours and much work for years to make the pageants such a hit. When Natalie decided to do her first one, I had my reservations. Boy, was I mistaken. It has been amazing to see my girl transform from a shy, anxious, and uncertain person to a confident, hard working and dedicated young lady. The transformation was apparent the moment she walked out on stage in 6th grade.

AMS Pageants not only teaches the young ladies to take care of their physical beauty, but to understand their inner beauty, intelligence, strength and confidence and how to be successful while having fun!!!!

Good luck to all of you smart and beautiful young ladies today!!! Remember that you all are winners and HAVE FUN making wonderful memories...

Miss AMS

Miss AMS advocates that our pageant should focus on qualities beyond beauty. Every girl is beautiful, and we emphasize education, grace, poise, and overall presentation.

We aim to foster a community of kindness, generosity, and inclusivity through activities and service. Our goal is to show the girls that beauty extends beyond appearance to how we treat others.
